It seemed that the day was turning out to be a record breaking day, but there was a first time for everything, wasn’t there? To start off, the day was a record setting cold day for the time of year, a bone chilling 42 degrees (practically unheard of so soon after summer), and secondly he had asked one of the local trainers at Crossfire Farms for a lesson, but he was just seeing for himself what the buzz about this woman was all about. A trainer himself (but reluctant to coach), he was willing to secretly take notes from anyone he could; he had already studied Carlee Peters’ style of training while he rode in the ring as she worked her horses one day. All he had left was Grace Moselle.

The easiest way to learn from her was a lesson, as she was too pregnant to ride (or not allowed to ride, he wasn’t aware of the situation going on so assumed she was simply too big).

It was almost too early for him to be dealing with her, but he was determined to ride her. Dodging flying feet and bared teeth, he cinched up the girth on Haunted Destiny, simply snarling at the bay mare as she attempted to take his head off. Smacking her on the shoulder he hissed,
Quit, you wretched cow or we’re riding outdoors regardless of how cold or windy it is.
The mare only gave him a stony glare, as if daring him to take her out into the cold where he knew she’d be even worse. Without warning, she struck out again, just barely catching the side of his thigh, he yelped in pain and kicked her in the stomach, she only took a small step sideways and snorted, hardly phased by her owner’s counterattack.

Often times he felt like a soldier fighting an unwinnable war with Destiny.

Glancing outside at the gray, cold day he ran quickly to his car to grab a second jacket before zipping that on. Aubrey knew better than to ride any of the Haunted babies without a helmet, so he clipped his GPA on and found his riding gloves. Taking her bridle from the tack room, he came back out and noticed that she was staring at him, ears pinned with the expression that said ‘bring it, skinny.’ Aubrey grinned at her, though there were many times where he publically voiced his desires to cut her head off, he liked the challenge she and her brother proposed, it made him feel accomplished when he got a decent amount of work done on them.

Trusty crop in hand, he put her bridle on and avoided teeth once more as he led her out to the outdoor arena.

The jumps looked a little low, and while he could be nice and raise them to a more acceptable height for the pregnant trainer, he decided she’d be ok lifting things herself and got on and began to warm up. As usual, Destiny flew off sideways at every single contact of his leg and gripped the bit in her mouth before inverting and throwing her weight around corners, unwilling to hold herself up. After thirty minutes of battle, he managed to get her ‘looking’ nice (though mechanically, it was all fake). Looking up he noticed a rather pregnant woman waddling towards him, he didn’t have a watch so he didn’t know if he had the rights to complain that she was late. Bringing Destiny to a halt in the middle of the arena he put on a fake smile that looked as real as any welcoming smile could be and said,
And you must be Grace Moselle, I’m excited for this lesson.

He could tell her to stay away from Destiny, that she’d bite. But she wouldn’t learn without a little trial and error, would she?

OVERALL PERSONALITY , Cade is a whole lot of problems shoved into one human being. Raised in a household where money is time and time is money, Cade has been taught to not value anything but money (and himself). People could probably build monuments and gilded tributes to his self-centeredness. As far as rationality goes, Cade is the least rational person you’ll ever meet. His mind rarely functions on a level that a normal human being’s brain should, either focused on what he’s going to be doing that night, what he did the night before, or what he’s doing right then and there. It’s hard for him to relate to people, as he acts like he lives above them. His relationships burn like a firework, hot and bright and always end with a bang and the strange and empty sense of lack of fulfillment (which he nurses with gambling, drinking and a hooker’s paid attention). He tends to be a ladie’s man and most of the time knows what to say just to get someone into bed; beyond that he’s a terrible conversationalist simply because he just doesn’t care. Oddly enough, Cade has a deeply rooted fear of being alone, left alone, or dying alone. When the party’s over and the gossip of the night’s died down, he’s always left feeling empty and depressed. It seems like he’s got a lot of friends, but really they’re power acquaintances, people he thinks will keep him on the top, he’ll drop them like a hot coal the second he believes that their support will fail him. It would not be wise to lend Cade the shirt of your back because he’ll never return it or the favor. If one was to call him in the middle of the night saying they needed a ride or even a couch to sleep on, Cade would simply hang up and go back to sleep (or partying/gambling). He is an agent’s worst nightmare and generally has to bribe someone to be his agent or PR, as they’re basically babysitting him or bailing him out of jail (almost like a Lindsay Lohan but without the confused gender preference and other scandalous activites). In a way, due to his upbringing, Cade views most people as instruments to further his own needs (some might call him a sociopath). After his parent’s recent abandonment, he has only gotten worse. At this rate, he really will die alone.

OVERALL , The creation of Cade Liam Rike is possibly one of the biggest moves in politics and money to ever occur. Amille Jeane Rike, a successful political figure in the state of New York, had never had a say in her own fate, run by her voters and her parents, when she was 22 she was almost forcibly betrothed to Ferdinand Rike III (a well known actor and man of great wealth). Just like royal betrothals in the medieval, Amille and Fritz were pushed to having a child to ‘seal’ the deal. In due time, Amille conceived and a bouncing baby boy full of promise, sunshine, sugar, spice, and everything nice was given to the world as punishment.

Immediately handed off to a wet nurse so Amille could return to her work, Cade’s life changed.

Perhaps if he had ever received any sort of guidance from his real parents as a child, he would have turned out differently, but as time wore on he began to search for ways to gain their attention, anyone’s attention. No one really understood why he behaved the way he did. A few doctors had been called in and declared their seemingly demonic son was absolutely insane, when really; they were all far from the truth. In all, Cade was simply a child starving for attention and learned to get it through negative actions (this has followed him all of his life). In an effort to get their gift from hell’s mind off of creating chaos and shattering the utopian society that they lived in, Amille put Cade into acting. The direction of his anger/ADD seemed to calm their child, and he was well liked by audiences and agents alike. From as young as age six and beyond, Cade has acted. Perhaps it’s his ability to create a fake life around himself to prove that he’s right about something or to impress someone (such a sociopath) is what makes him so successful.

Unfortunately for his parents, as he got older acting no longer provided a cure for his hellboy tenencies.

When he was thirteen, Cade was introduced to alcohol and the addicting habit of gambling (and winning). It was through old friends (now estranged) and bad influences that his roots in diabolical and shenanigans grew (not that it took a lot of peer pressure to get the attention starving actor to do something). After visiting the jailhouse several times, Cade’s parents decided that it’d be best for their reputations if they simply disowned their son when he was sixteen (but didn’t stop feeding his need for money). Not exactly understanding why they’d done what they did, Cade sought out a couch and a fiery path of revenge against them. They’d kissed their quiet lives goodbye the second they cut their pitbull son loose on the unsuspecting world. During this time of his life, Cade blew through four agents and three PR’s, all unable to handle his antics. It wasn’t until a jail visit when he was 19 that left him there for a year that made him slightly curb his behavior (he at least stopped the buying, selling, and doing of illegal drugs).

Now he trolls East Hampton , New York because his parents begged him to get out of New York city for a while. It’s not like he’ll stay out of trouble for very long.
