OVERALL , addison grew up in a family where money was always tight and tempers flared. her mother had gotten knocked up at sixteen by her father, who is five years older than her mother. her mother regretted getting pregnant because she had to give up her dream of going to college in order to care for addison. nick, her father, did not want to be tied down by a wife and child. but marriane needed help, so she and nick married and raised addison. growing up, addison never really had many friends. this was largely because her parents wouldn't let her play with the other kids on their street because the kids' parents would always ask questions about the scratches and bruises addison had. whenever her dad got drunk, which was frequently, he would come home and beat her. sometimes he had a reason, but most of the time he didn't. addison quickly learned to fear and hate her dad. he left her mother and her to provide for themselves when addison was eight. once her father left, things seemed to get easier, for a while. addison went to school and made friends and started to adjust to a normal life.

when she was fourteen, she had her first boyfriend and her mother disapproved and so the two were constantly arguing. her mother didn't want her to make the mistake she had and get pregnant, and addison told her mother she wasn't dumb enough to make the same mistake. from then on the two fought constantly and addison started spending less and less time at home and more time at her friends' houses. addison graduated school a year early because she wanted to be away from her mother and in college as soon as possible. she went to the university of california san diego as a business major. in college, things were better for addison. she was finally able to make long term friends and get to let people see the softer side of her that she had learned to hide. when she was nineteen, addison flew to new york to see if she could get signed to a modeling agency. she got booked and in the first year of medling, her career started to take off. soon she was on magazines everywhere and was named as one of the up and coming female models. addison began dating the son of a celebrity and pictures of the two were splashed across tabloids everywhere. however, it was soon rumored that he was cheating on her. addison found out and in a rage went to his apartment, found the two of them in bed together and took a picture which she sold to the tabloids. her agency was able to get her ex not to press charges, but their break-up was page 1 news. so her agency decided that she should lay low for a while, so they got her a house in east hampton for her to relax and keep quiet until things have calmed down.
