ladies & gents! i give you mr. marlow james o'neill, the hottest ginger to walk this side of the hamptons. if you think otherwise you can get out now. no, i'm kidding. don't leave please. anyway. mar is currently a waiter at one of those highly exclusive fancy restaurants all the celebs and socialites rave about. he doesn't lead a life of glamor, but he manages to get by. originally from seattle, washington, marlow moved out to new york with his parents and younger brother, isaac, when he was fourteen after his father was relocated thanks to a lovely promotion that eventually gave him the opportunity to start his own business in security. after a year or so, the business really took off after one of new york's most infamous clubs hired him to set up security cameras and force around the joint. the club's opening gave his father plenty of chances to network and within months he was setting up systems for more then just night clubs. marlow and his brother went from public to private school as soon as the money started rolling in. however, that wasn't the only thing that changed. along with a new school, the o'neill's bought a condo in one of the high rises near christopher's building and when the summer rolled its sunny head a vacation house in the hamptons was where the family spent the three months of break in between school. marlow graduated school with no intention of going off to college despite his parents wishes. as a way to gain some sort of independence mar moved into the vacation house and worked a summer job at a surf rental hut on the beach. when the summer ended he took all the money he managed to save (which wasn't a whole lot let me tell you) and bought a plane ticket out to seattle all on a whim. for half a year marlow stayed with his grandparents in washington until his father's health took a minor dip and his mother begged him to come back home. the scare drove his father to start concocting the idea of marlow taking over the business if anything were to happen to him in the future, just so the family wouldn't "lose" anything if one of his colleagues went to take his spot. marlow, despising the entire idea of playing a bigger part in such a pretentious society, left his parents house and returned to the hampton's. this time he did not run to the vacation house. instead he used the money his grandparents had put in his savings account over the years to pay his first and last months rent in a semi-decent apartment. marlow is now a waiter (if that's what pays the bills) while he pursues his love for art.

friends, if you don't want to be friends with marlow... you're crazy. he's adventurous, whitty, a little awkward at times, and quite humorous if he has a few beers. he's a little prejudice against the people who have it easy, but if you convince him that you're worth his time he just might reconsider.

enemies, if you make a bad first impression on him then marlow is most likely not going to like you... ever. he's thick headed like that.

lovers, so... call me cliché, but tell me what you think. you have marlow, who pretty much hates his life at work because of all the big-headed snobs that eat there, and then you have --------. she'll be a socialite or a celeb, duh. ANYWAY. so, maybe while he's working one night mar sees said girl above with a bunch of her girlfriends having a good ol' time. her friends are a lot more obnoxious then she is or they are all gushing over all the clothes the just bought (wow. this sounds extremely stereotypical 0.o). marlow goes over and takes their orders and said girl tries and makes a move, but mar is a big douchie about it and rejects her. through out the night she keeps trying without finding success until the group is about to leave and she gives her number to one of the other waiters to give marlow. he gets it but doesn't think twice and never calls. so maybe a week down the road mar is getting coffee and runs into the girl. she's all, "why didn't you call me?" and he'll say, "'cause i don't like wasting my time." or something like that. the girl will be like, "you're quick to judge." and then marlow goes, "prove me wrong then." and then walk off. THEN she comes into the restaurant again, pulls whatever shenanigans to convince marlow that she's worth it, and then marlow finally agrees to go on a date with her? i dunno. you tell me. wow. that was long... OTHER THAN THAT. i'm sure that marlow might have hooked up with a local one of the summers he spent in the hamptons while in high school. he also might have talked to a tourist while he worked at the surf rental hut. just sayin'.

hey there again! meet katherine rose rosenburg or kit. she's the lady in charge of the white elephant boutiques scattered around the country featuring all of her designs. so if you couldn't tell by that she's a clothing designer... obvs. kit was rasied by her parents corina and howard monet in south hadley, massachusetts. since she was able to take steady steps and form clear sentences katherine has been thrown in several extra curricular activies. tennis, ballet, jazz, swim, theatre, violin, piano, singing, cheerleading... you name it and kit has probably done it only because after her parents divorce they always tried to one up the other. while her parents strived for their daughter to have nothing but the best katherine focused on her studies. throughout grade school kit only attended schools strictly for girls, which wasn't really a problem for her since she was an only child and if she had the choice of having a sibling it would be a sister. it wasn't until high school that katherine really found her niche for fashion. there would be several times in her advanced placement english class where she would be doodling patterns in her sketch book instead of reading 1984. the monet's lived the typical life of people that fell into money thanks to their previous generations. kit went through life content with everything they had and all they could get away with by just saying their name. it wasn't until she met james that her label in society stopped mattering to her. call it what you will but katherine knew the moment she pressed her lips against his that something real was there and she was silly to deny it at first. it took her what seemed like ages to finally warm up to the idea of seeing him again. she didn't regret her decision to go back to the beach in hopes of finding him there, which she did. the rest is pretty much history. a summer love that everyone underestimated. kit can still tell you the look on her parents faces when she told them she was in love with james. young love was frowned at to the monet's only because corina and howard knew that even when they were getting married they truly didn't love each other. she was determined to prove them wrong though and so far she has. james and kit have been married for about a year and five months and now have a daughter, odette, to love and care for.

friends, TONS. TONS. TONS. she's young but her clothing line has given her several invites to parties/openings/etc. a best friend would be lovely. someone who knows anything and everything about her. especially after all that kit has gone through she would need a shoulder to cry on.

enemies, i wouldn't say that kit would have any enemies. maybe a little rivalry with another fashion designer who's out to get her, but other then that i really can't see her butting heads with anyone. UNLESS. she has an assistant/intern that wants to make her life a living hell. that would be quite entertaining.

so yeah, i think that could probably happen. she'd totally love him, think he's cute, but feel sort of weird because of her friends being there with her. she can be totally obnoxious and such, so yeah. uhh, if this isn't okay, let me know o: i just really wanna plot vanessa up, and, uh, he seems totally amazing. xD so yeah. uhh, if not, she'd try to be friends with him, probably.

BRYNNE & KATHERINE
ohhh, these two should be best friends. brynne is also twenty-three years old. her mother is a fashion magazine editor, so perhaps that's how the two were introduced. brynne works as a broadway actress, but since she recently moved to the hamptons, she's been taking some time off. she has a seven year old daughter named holden harlow golightly, and her husband harrison recently passed away, hence her move to the hamptons. i think these two would be good emotional support for each other. you know, the type to tell each other everything and always be there for the big problems.

HARLOW & KATHERINE
well, if katherine is good friends with brynne, then she'd know harlow. i don't really see them being close or anything, but they'd at least be nice to one another.

CASH & KATHERINE
friends maybe? cash is a professional polo player. he's a bit of a jerk and a little arrogant at some times, but he's got a soft spot for some people. normally, he's a total flirt, but seeing as she's married, i think he'd respect that. so i was thinking good friends perhaps. he could always use someone to keep him in line.

ANYA & KATHERINE
i could see potential for friends here. anya is a bit awkward though, lacking in a lot of people skills, but depending on how they react to one another i could potentially see these two becoming friends.

BRYNNE & MARLOW
maybe brynne eats at the restaurant where he works. she's definitely from the lifestyle he hates, but she's generally a total sweetheart. perhaps she can show him that not everyone is like that. i dunno. i could see these two becoming good friends.

HARLOW & MARLOW
number one, their names rhyme. xDD ahah anyways. she is probably everything he could ever hate about a person. she grew up getting everything she ever wanted. she's into parties and she's a bit on the crazy side. she owns a nightclub, and she can be extremely blunt about things. i really have no idea how these two would react to one another. honestly, i think harlow would have fun poking at him. she really does love to argue. i could see almost a frenemy kind of thing going on for them. hm, we could just see how it goes.

CASH & MARLOW
definitely not friends. i don't think these two would get along at all.

ANYA & MARLOW
i could see these two being buddies. anya is an ex-ballerina. she grew up having essentially no social life, so she's really lacking in the people skills department. she's currently trying to make up for all the things she missed in childhood and now she works as a clerk at a music store. i could see them being friends. i'm not sure exactly how they'd meet, but we could think of something.
