it was mid october and the days were cool. outside the wind was blowing about, howling as it weaved it's way through colourful autumn trees and the cold stones of the large homes that filled the area just north of westwood manor. at that very moment, katarina avery baker stood inside one of the homes in question, pulling on a pair of black, leather embellished gloves as she stood in front of a full length mirror within her room. the young woman was already dressed and ready for the day, with her coat already on and tied up, as she was heading out in a matter of moments. it was a saturday, just past one o'clock in the afternoon. kat had got up a few hours earlier to shower and primp, doing her hair and makeup before getting dressed. somewhere in that time she had went downstairs to the kitchen to retrieve herself a bagel, though she couldn't remember where it fell into the order of things. the day had started well and continued to go in a good direction. kat's father, troy baker, hadn't been seen by his daughter since he had tried to kick her out of the house once he found out she was pregnant. thankfully, her older half brother, hunter, had saved her ass. even so, katarina hadn't spoken to her father in days, maybe weeks. it would continue that day as well, since she was heading out to her doctor's appointment with aubrey.

grabbing her wallet off the dresser, she threw it into the purse she would be using that day and slung that around her shoulder as she made her way out of the house. with a quick motion, she slipped her sunglasses on her face, her long blonde locks flowing behind her in the wind. it was easy to say that the teen looked like she had stepped out of a fashion magazine, dressed in high end attire and with her perfect looks. even her body looked great. the fact she was pregnant wasn't noticeable under the trench and even the loose dress she had chosen for the day. in fact, her pregnancy wasn't extremely noticeable at all. at fourteen weeks the only thing she felt she looked was fat - not pregnant. it was obvious when she was undressed that the bump was a baby on board, but it was all hidden well with clothing. not that everyone didn't know already.

as she got into her car gracefully, kat tossed her bag into the backseat. she could have just as easily taken her father's car and driver, but she felt like driving on her own that day. the heels she was wearing weren't difficult to drive in - at least not for kat. she had much experience at driving with heels on, so she knew what she was doing. with the gear in drive, she pulled around and out of the family's estate and took off for the westwood campus and dorms. katarina was heading to pick up none other than aubrey chandler, her best friend and partner in crime. the two girls had been friends (and enemies) for many years. now that they were back as friends after their falling out, they were always there for each other. so when kat asked aubrey to come with her to the check up that day, aubrey had been quick to agree.

the drive wasn't long and soon katarina was pulling up to the dormitories. once a parking spot was her's, she stopped the car and sent a quick 'i'm here!' text to her brunette buddy. then all there was left to do was sit back and relax until aubrey came outside. her nerves were a bit tense though, as she was rather anxious to head to her check up. at fourteen weeks, she knew it was common not to feel the baby kick - usually it came between sixteen and twenty two weeks, or so she was told. certainly she had felt a bit of movement, but not a kick, she knew that much. also, she was anxious to know the gender of the child. who better to share these moments with then her best friend and the baby's aunt? not just it's 'aunt', but it's real, biological aunt. the sister of the baby's father - who wasn't around as it was. .

OVERALL PERSONALITY , madeline is a driven young woman with a germophobic quality to her. she isn't extremely obsessive, but does not like germs in the least and avoids them when she can do so. she is also slightly ocd and is always straitening and tidying things, making things more organized. since she is an administrative assistant, it helps her in her job. maddie is quite professional and does things one hundred and ten percent. maddie, while being very driven, can also come off as scheming, bitchy and cut throat. she has a competitive streak to her, but really she is a sweet girl. despite her parents long lasting marriage, she has commitment issues of her own that haunt her, but she really does want to settle down one day, perhaps. no necessarily marriage, but find a man she can be comfortable with. despite her commitment issues, she has no issue with men and is known to have flings. she isn't the sleazy kind of girl with a million one night stands, but she has a few extremely short term releationships under her belt.
