troain emile jageilski is usually called dr. jageilski or troy, depending on his surrounding area or the people in it. troy is the dean of medicine at the nearest hospital and has lived in the hamptons for almost six years now. he's thirty two years old, he's never been married, nor anything close. he was raised by his single mother and when she died while he was at college, a little peice of him died with her. maybe he lost his soul, who knows, but after she was gone, troy changed. he focused solely on his studies - her death inspiring him (if that's even a good word for it) to follow up his college education with medical school - and his work, becoming a diagnostician for several years before being promoted to the head of the hospital. he works hard. he works long hours. the only person he shows affection to are his patients and his cat. he has a large romantic plot already set, but he needs everything. he needs people to break him down and draw him out and make him human again.

Len right now is in a place where she would like to be able to live the way he does: focusing and succeeding at something he loves, still being passionate about it after long years, but not letting people hurt him in the process. Upon first meeting him, she'd probably admire the balance he seems to have found, at least in her eyes, and would probably ask him suggestions on how he did it, but I also think that, as time goes on, they may help each other realize that building walls and not letting people in is not the best way to deal with pain, because sooner or later it will reach you anyway.
Considering this, I think there could be enough common ground for a frienship that could evolve from mutual understanding to confidants, maybe shoulder to cry on, in a way.
Let me know what you think about it. =]
