addie rolled over and looked at her clock, sighing heavily when she realized it only read nine o'clock. she hated getting up early like this when she didn't have to, and it was happening more and more these days. she rolled over in her bed and stared at the ceiling for a good ten minutes before she decided it was finally time to drag her ass out of bed. she could have laid in bed for most of the day if she had wanted to, there was nothing much that she really had to get done. she only had a couple of photo shoots that week, and she had already done one of them. the other two wouldn't be until the end of the week. so she had the whole tuesday to herself and was not at all thrilled by this idea. at first when she had moved to east hampton, she thought it was going to be nice. she could hang out, relax, get a lot of sleep, go out and get drunk. but it turned out that those things were only fun when done in moderation, not every day. addie hated feeling useless, and that was what living here made her feel, so she had sort of been in a bad mood for the past several weeks. she doubted that that would change much today, but the only way to find out was to get up out of bed and get dressed. addie got up out of her bed and went into the bathroom, turning the water on to take a shower.
about an hour later, addie was clean and on her way to being fully dressed. her hair had dried in natural, wavy blonde curls that framed her face quite nicely. she had pulled a lace top out of her closet, something she had bought a month ago but had never really gotten around to wearing. she paired the top with some skinny jeans and then a pair of some of her favorite black pumps. addie was already tall at five feet, ten inches, and with the heels, she was practically giant. but she liked it that way, she liked being able to loom over people as a constant reminder that they would never quite measure up to her, both literally and metaphorically. addie didn't always necessarily to feel like she was better than people, but when she was in such a shitty mood, it definitely helped. so she slipped her feet into the shoes and grew several inches, a smile coming to her face. addie then remembered how cold it had been the day before, so she grabbed a leather jacket to slip on her shoulders and keep her warm until she got where she was going.
the coffee shop that addie was headed to wasn't another starbucks, but one of those family owned businesses that had been around for ages. she wouldn't really admit it to anybody because she hated people knowing what a sap she really was, but addie loved these kinds of places. she loved knowing that corporate chains hadn't bought everybody out and there were still some businesses around that had lasted through many ups and downs. fortunately, the coffee shop was only a couple blocks down from addie's house, so while she easily could have driven, she decided to walk instead. as she stepped out of her house, the cold air bit at her skin, reminding her just how freezing it could get in this place. she had been used to california where the weather was rarely this bad or cold. but she wasn't going to complain, her agency had after all given her a gorgeous summer home to use for the next couple of months while she laid low and waited for the tabloids to find something other than her life to write about. however, it was taking a lot longer than she had expected.
ten minutes later, addie was stepping into the warmth of the coffee shop, the smell of freshly roasted coffee beans drifting over to here. addie went up to the counter and smiled at the cashier, she was in there practically every day, sometimes twice, so she had come to know most of the staff. with her lips turned upward in a smile, she ordered hey eric, can i get a large vanilla latte? thanks babe. addie flashed him another winning smile as she handed him the cash and took her change back. then she went over to where they made the drinks and waited for hers to be ready. her eyes wandered around, looking at all the people. some of them she recognized as having been there before, and some were new faces. one new face that caught her eye was a guy, about her age, who looked as though he might have just walked in. he was definitely good looking, but addie wasn't close enough to really tell. her latte was ready and she picked it up, musing about how she would introduce herself to this boy when she felt her body connect with another body, although this one was a lot more solid than her own. her latte spilled on the ground and addie looked up at the offender only to find that it was the same guy she had been looking at before. she couldn't help but notice how good looking he was close up, especially with those eyes. but she ignored that for the moment and snapped wanna try watching where you're going? or did i miss the memo that tuesdays were 'act like an idiot' days. she raised a brow at him, waiting to see how he would handle the situation. that would be enough for her to decide if he was worth pursuing or not.

YOU'RE MY APHRODISIAC, you're the only one i'm needing,
WHEN I GO, I'LL COME BACK.nick&addie, coffee shop, early afternoon.
Nick put on the façade of listening intently as his Classical Literature professor droned on about something involving the use of satire in George Bernard Shaw’s writing. He had never really been a fan of his or any classical author for that matter. He had just decided to take this course because he thought it made him look like a better-rounded person. And besides, his course choices were very limited; it was between this and environmental literature. What would any sane person have chosen?
The ringing of the school’s bell brought Nick out of his daydreaming and back to reality. As he packed up his Macbook, writing pad, and pen, he thought about what he would do for the rest of the day. It was around twelve, and Classical Literature was his last class for the day. The first class he had tomorrow started at ten-thirty, so he’d have to leave around seven. That meant no clubbing or parties for him tonight. His face looked a little downcast as that thought crossed his mind, but he looked at it this way: the sooner he finished college, the closer he was to owning his dealership, and then he could go to clubs and parties all he wanted. Well, for the most part.
Nick let his mind wander once more. He didn’t want to let a whole day go to waste, especially when the weather was as beautiful as it was. Although mid-winter was approaching fast, the temperature lingered around forty degrees, the sun shone high in the sky, and on some days, there were hardly any clouds in the sky. His face lit up like a light bulb as an idea came to him. He would go to the coffee place on 43rd and Broadway, grab his usual, and head out to Central Park. He’d only been there a couple times, and he didn’t enjoy any of the trips, since his mother and Rosalie usually spent the entire time gawking at the scenery and telling him and his dad to “look at the hot guy jogging over there!” He would finally get to experience it his way, without any interruptions. And hey, who knows, maybe he’d meet a girl. Since he’d moved here, he hadn’t even so much as touched a girl, and all that pent up sexual tension was killing him.
He searched for his Mercedes on the street outside NYU, and had a bit of a hard time finding it. It was parked down the street, and almost twenty minutes after he got in, he was at his favorite coffee shop. He stepped in, and the mixed scents of vanilla, mocha and a countless number of other flavors hit him like a freight train. The smells could get a little strong, but he’d come here so many times, he had gotten used to it. He made his way to the line towards the ordering counter, and as he walked, he faintly heard someone call his name, and he turned around, noticing that it was one of his classmates. He gave him a small wave and turned back around, but before he even took another step, he collided with the person in front of him, and staggered backwards a few steps. Before he could even get one apology out, he heard a voice in front of him, practically yelling: “Wanna try watching where you're going? Or did i miss the memo that Tuesdays were 'act like an idiot' days.” He took a quick second to survey the girl in front of him, who just so happened to be one of the most gorgeous girls he’d ever seen. Her platinum blonde hair framed her face perfectly, her lips were coated in a devilishly sexy red, and the jeans and top she wore hugged every single one of her curves. He watched her face as she lifted a brow inquisitively, almost challenging him to say something. Well sweetheart, I think I was the one that missed something. I never knew Tuesdays were ‘meet a beautiful girl’ days. He knew it was corny, but he was a dork, what do you expect? He gave her the wink and the million-dollar smile that made girls melt, and spoke again. This is gonna get so sticky, hold on a sec. He motioned for her to sit at a nearby table and made his way to the napkins, grabbing some to clean up the mess the two had made. As he threw away the napkins, he glanced over at her once more, thinking about how good she looked when she was mad, and how she would look even better naked in his bed.
He sat down across from her at the table and spoke. So are you gonna tell me your name? Or am I just supposed to call you incredibly stunning, he complimented with a smile. As she spoke, half of him listened – well, more like one-third – and the other two-thirds took in the view of her. She was most definitely a sight for sore eyes.

she had planned on having a nice time at the coffee shop, having one of those lazy mornings that she kept hearing were so nice. but while addie liked to sleep in some days, she wasn't too fond of being lazy. sure, she felt like being lazy some days and there were always times when she would prefer to be snuggled up in bed than out working. but those lazy days only lasted for so long before addie got fed up with them. she was okay with being lazy up to a point, and after that she just felt useless and unproductive. that point for her had been about two weeks ago and since then addie had been in a bad mood. she hated the fact that she felt like she had to hide and make sure she didn't cause too much of an uproar or else she would find her face splashed across covers again. as a model, she was used to seeing herself in magazines and on covers. but those magazines were usually fashion magazines, not the tabloids. addie had been keeping a careful eye on the tabloids and watched them for anything they reported on her. luckily her story seemed to have died down a little and she was only mentioned from time to time. still, her agency thought it would be best for her to spend another month or so in east hampton in order to make sure that the media wasa totally over her story before she reemerged in the public eye. thankfully the tabloids didn't seem to have discouraged her clients, so addie was still being booked for shoots and runway, so at least she had something to do with her time. unfortunately it didn't take up all of her time and that left addie pretty pissed and bored for the rest of the time when she wasn't working.
bumping in to some stranger was not what addie had at all been expecting to do, especially bumping into a stranger as good looking as this guy was. he was dressed casually, but from what he wore and the way he wore it, addie could tell he was from money. her family had never been rich and it wasn't until addie started modeling and landed some big clients that she had been able to have some pretty good disposable income. addie had become very good at telling who really had money and who was just trying to make it look like they did. and it only took one look for addie to decide that this boy definitely did. she studied his face briefly as she waited for him to reply, trying to see if she recognized his face. he was pretty hot though, so she was fairly certain that she would have remembered his face if she had seen it before. but his good looks only detracted from her anger a little. with her brow raised, she waited for him to answer. when she got one, she couldn't hold back her laughter. she laughed a little and then said alright first of all, i'm not your sweetheart. you've got to work a lot harder than that to get to use that name with me. and second of all, i'm curious, does that stuff really work on girls?
then he winked and flashed her that smile and addie simply rolled her eyes. yes, he had looked completely gorgeous when he had smiled at her like that, and yes, it had made her heart beat faster. but she knew that these were the moves he probably used on all girls. you see, boys as good looking as this stranger were used to getting their way with women. they could smile and wink, and any girl they wanted was theirs. well, addie wasn't so easy. she loved guys - she loved flirting with them, teasing them, and then of course, all the physical stuff. she didn't used to sleep around as much as she had been lately, but with her recent and dramatic break-up weighing heavily on her mind, she found herself in the beds of a few more guys than she had anticipated. addie watched as the boy cleaned up the spill and found herself smiling just a bit at this. that was rather sweet of him, normally people would have just left it for the staff to clean up, but this guy actually went to the trouble. so maybe he wasn't so bad after all. he looked back over at her as he was cleaning up the spill and addie gave him a little finger wave, her way of letting him know that she had caught him checking her out. not that she really minded, it was nice to know someone was appreciating her body.
when he sat down across from her, addie got to look into his bright blue eyes again and had to admit, they were hard to look away from. but she forced herself to, taking a sip of her latte as he spoke. she grinned slightly and shook her head, asking him you just don't give up, do you? well, my name is addison, but i suppose you can call me addie. and yours? and please don't say mr. right or something like that, i can only handle so many corny lines a day. her eyes wandered down his body after she spoke, taking him in. he was undeniably hot and judging from when addie had bumped into him, very in shape. so maybe she just found something, more like someone, to occupy her time today.
